The skills I wish I had learned earlier in my career as a physician

Who is this for?

The most powerful change in medicine happens from the inside out.

This series is for women physicians who are:
  • feeling exhausted, depleted, or emotionally overwhelmed
  • struggling with people-pleasing, perfectionism, or boundaries
  • feeling increasingly cynical, reactive, or disconnected from medicine
  • questioning whether the way they’re currently practicing is sustainable
  • wanting to feel more like themselves again inside and outside of medicine

Or simply physicians who sense: “There has to be another way to experience this work.”

What You'll Learn

Across these four short coaching sessions, we explore some of the inner skills physicians were never formally taught in medical training — but that deeply shape our experience of practicing medicine.

Session 1 Thoughts & Beliefs
How your thinking shapes your experience of medicine, and why becoming aware of your thought patterns may be one of the most important skills for building a sustainable career.
Session 2 — Emotions
Why emotionally charged moments in medicine can feel so activating, and how to move from emotional reactivity toward discernment and grounded response.
Session 3 — Personal Responsibility
The difference between what physicians are responsible for, responsible to, and not responsible for and why this distinction matters deeply for burnout and well-being.
Session 4 — Becoming the Authority in Your Own Life
How many physicians unknowingly orient their decisions around the expectations, opinions, and needs of others — and how to begin reconnecting with your own values, judgment, and inner authority.

Each session is approximately 20 minutes long and designed to fit easily into a commute or between clinical days.

Dr. Caitlin Christie is a family physician, physician coach, and educator who helps women physicians navigate burnout, emotional exhaustion, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and the challenges of practicing medicine in a sustainable way.
After navigating her own experience of burnout and disillusionment in medicine, Dr. Caitlin spent years investing in coaching, mentorship, and personal development work — translating what she learned specifically through the lens of the woman physician.

Her coaching framework, Rx for Resilience & Results, combines practical tools, emotional insight, and physician-specific understanding to help physicians reclaim a greater sense of agency, fulfillment, and well-being in both medicine and life.
